    This guest post, which Figaro wrote for the popular parenting blog Youth Muse, explains why a parent might teach four-letter words to kids. What do you think, Figarists? Does talking blue develop verbal wit?

    Talking blue is a double edged sword when it comes to wit development. On the one hand its an easy shortcut (to the point of being a lazy one) for emphasis. On the other it expands one's reserve of words, meanings and even sounds and letters (i.e. effin')
